When was the Tower built?

The Tower of London was built in 1086 by William the Conqueror. In the 13th century it was rebuilt as it is now.

The Tower of London was built in 1086 from Wilhelm the Conquerer. Earlier the Tower used to be unpopular by many English people because it was the home of many beheadings and captivity.

These days you can visit the tower there you can see some museums. You can watch their the Crown Juwels of the britian Royals. Their estimated total value is more than 20 billion pounds. St Edwards Crown is also housed in this collection of jewels, arguably the most important crown in Britain as it is used exclusively for the monarch’s coronation.

The last English king who stayed in the Tower was Henry VIII for the coronation of his wife Ane Boleyn. The Tower of London does not belong to the state it belongs to the British crown. It has been a World Heritage Site since 1988.

Tickets for Adults cost 27,50 pounds. Children pay 13,10 pounds and tickets for seniors and students cost 21,50 pounds. Tickets for the family ( 2 adults + 3 children or 1 adult + 4 children) cost round about 80 euros.
